100 Schools. In communities the world has overlooked.

At Hark Angels, the mission is to build 100 schools in communities the world has overlooked.

Twelve schools have now been built across Myanmar and Cambodia. Since 2024 the work has expanded into Cambodia, where the third Cambodian school has been completed and work in the communities there is ongoing.

The Progress

One hundred schools. This is where we are.

The Origin

Born from a second chance

After years of volunteering in Africa and Myanmar, Richie Harkham decided to create his own not-for-profit to build schools where they’re needed most.

The turning point came in a single moment, a near-fatal accident and a life-saving knee transplant from a teenage donor. To honour that donor’s legacy, Richie built a school in his name. From that act of gratitude, Hark Angels was born.

What a schoolmakes possible

Every school changes everything for the community around it. Here’s how.

The Impact

Where the Work Has Landed

From where it began in Kenya to nine schools across Myanmar and three schools in Cambodia, every project is built with the community and made to belong.

Hark Angels work in Kenya

Kenya

Where it all began. In 2013 Richie built a dining hall that still stands today. Hark Angels has since completed a water project there and continues to sponsor children in the community on an ongoing basis.

Hark Angels schools in Myanmar

Myanmar

The foundation of the Hark Angels mission. Nine schools built across Myanmar, where the vision of 100 first took shape.

Hark Angels work in Cambodia

Cambodia

Since 2024 the work has expanded into Cambodia. Three schools now built and work in the communities there is ongoing.

The Communities

Every school is community-owned. Designed, named and run by the people who live there. Built to last. Built to belong. Richie visits every school personally and the Hark Angels team maintains ongoing relationships with each headmaster and community, not just building schools but staying invested in the lives around them.

The Hark Angels Trip

More than visiting schools

High-five moment with a young child at a Myanmar school

Six days travelling with Richie Harkham. Sitting in classrooms where children sing in schools we have built, meeting families, and hearing real stories.

Temples and villages in Cambodia

You also experience Cambodia in a way most people never do. Temples, villages, shared meals, and a group of people who quickly become something more than strangers.

The trip group

People return with a different perspective on what matters. Everything is fully organised. Hark Angels takes no profit from these trips.

THE JOURNEY

HARK ANGELS · THE FILM

Six daysyou can’t unsee

Six days in Cambodia with Richie Harkham. Visit the schools, meet the children and families, and see a perspective most people never do.

I loved the balance between visiting the schools and experiencing Cambodia's culture. Every part of the journey was thoughtfully designed, but it was the people—the children, the communities, our guides and our group—that made it truly unforgettable. I came home changed.
